Taking Of Pelham 123

Being a big John Travolta & Denzel Washington fan I was over joyed when I heard that they were releasing The Taking of Pelham 123. I could not wait to see this film. After watching the film today I am actually quite speechless trying to blog about it!

The story line is about Mr Blue (John Travolta) who was recently released from Prison and has taken over a train and willing to kill hostages until he has been handed a million dollar ransom for every passenger on board the train. Zachary Garbers (Denzel Washington) Happens to be the luck subway dispatcher who picks up Mr Blue’s call. From then on Mr Blue demands only for Garber to speak with him during the hostage process. Mr Blue then demands for Garber to come down into the subway with the money for Mr Blue. I shall not say anymore, your best actually watching the film, the film is outstanding. Most hostage films are normally all the same – The hostage taker demands money, the money is almost delivered then there is a Hero that saves the money, hostages and kills the bad guy. This film has aa slightly different angle which was spot on!

I would HIGHLY recommend this film to anyone, this is a must see for anyone.

The Proposal

I went to the cinema this afternoon with my boyfriend. We saw two movies. One I was expecting great things from and the other, not expecting too much. Surprisingly both were excellent. The first movie we saw was “the taking of pelham 123″ (will review this later). Followed by a romantic comedy – The Proposal.

I expected my boyfriend to be yawning before we were even half way through but he was chuckling like the rest of us in the cinema.

This film is about a power hungry boss who is facing deportation. To escape this she blackmails her secretary to marry her. In order to keep the authorities off her back, Margaret (Bullock) have to make it as real as possible. They head to Andrew’s (Reynold) parents in Alaska. Margaret realises over the weekend what family meant and she actually got her heart back instead of a power hunger. You would typically expect for them to fall in love and get married and live happily ever after, but no.. the twist is that Margaret comes clean at the alter.

Andrew chases Margaret back to new York and takes the power back. Proposes to her in a believable scenario.

Grammy (Betty white from the golden girls), was a realy fun character to watch in this movie.

I would recommend this movie to girls and their girlfriends but also a couple on a date. Its got enough comedy and romance without being overwhelmingly cheesy.

Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen

I am no way a fan of films like Transformers, I just don’t understand why people would watch films like these. My mate had asked me to come see it with him, Me having an Unlimited Cinema pass I decided what the heck. Straight away I was amazed by the graphics In the film, the way the cars just transformed – Way Impressed!

The sound in this film was also outstanding, The noises as the cars all transformed was really loud and heavy on the ears. I have not been this blown away with graphics and sound before until now!

There was 1 point in the film that really bugged me, this was really boring for me. It was the part were the Airplane transformer was explaining to everyone about defeating the bad transformers, I found this to be a drag!

Overall, I was more than impressed by this film. I would recommend anyone to watch this, I’ll give this a 8/10

The Hangover

It has been such a long time since I went to the Cinema and actually pi**ed myself with Laughter. The Hangover is basically a couple of friends who visit Las Vegas on a stag night. It all turns sour when they wake up next morning to find that their friend who is getting married is no where to be seen. The guys try and rethink their steps the night before by collecting clues from the damage they have caused to try and find their friend.

This film is well under-rated. I would highly recommend that you watch this film, It is certainly a MUST for all comedy lovers out there! I would give this film an 8/10

Fast & Furious 4

I was a little bit worried when i had heard that there was yet going to be another Fast & The furious. After seeing the first 1 and 2 I had became a huge fan of the movies. When Tokyo Drift came out, this was a big pile of nonsense and ruined the whole series for me.

Anyway getting to the point, Fast & The Furious 4. After watching this movie it has certainly sucked me in. The original cast are there, we have Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Michell Rodriguez and more. From start to finish in F&TF4 there is non stop action, Some of the car scenes in this movie are just fantastic! The very first car scene with the tankers at the beginning of the movie was amazing!

From being disapointed with Tokyo Drift, F&TF4 certainly raises the bar again. I would certainly recommend that you go see the movie in the cinema or watch on dvd when this comes out! I will give this movie a 8/10

Terminator 4 Salvation

Well let me get straight to the point with this, T4 is very much worth the watch, the graphics and sound in this film are fantastic! Some of the new robot such as the bike were pretty brilliant too.

The only thing that bugged me with this film was that Christian Bale, I assumed was going to be the main character but he isn’t. The movie is more focused on Sam Worthington, he is the main focus throughout the film, I found this to be rather disappointing. The fact that Christian Bale wasn’t the main character in the film It certainly never took away any enjoyment that I had watching it.

I thought T4 could have been alot better than expected, I would have loved to have seen more robots, there were very little “on Ground” Robots, There were alot of flying robots which I found was just a copy cat from the film War Of The Worlds as these flying robots picked up people and put them into a chamber inside them.

However, I would recommend to anyone who is a Fan of the Terminator Series to go see this, Just please dont get your hopes up. I would say that the previous Terminator films are a whole lot better! I would give T4 a rating of 5/10

Sex Drive

Being a sucker for comedy films I couldn’t wait to go see this one, Sex Drive is about a boy Ian who meets a girl online, The girl persuades him to drive across town to meet up with her. Ian needs to steel his Macho Brothers car in order to drive up to meet Miss Tasty. Along the way Ian and his 2 friends Lance & Felicia run into some bother which stops Ian getting to see Miss Tasty. When Ian finally gets to meet Miss tasty its not exactly what he had in mind.

Sex Drive is fun, romantic and well worth the watch. I would recommend this to anyone.
